Leaf Each leaf divides into 3 narrow, toothed, lance-shaped leaflets about 1″ long.
Notes The plant was introduced from Europe as a hay crop. It is very fragrant and smells like vanilla when leaves or flowers are crushed. It is very similar to white sweet clover except for the color of the flower.
