The flower is a spike cluster 1-3″ tall of yellow tube flowers. Individual flowers are 3/4″ long arranged in a tight fuzzy cluster. Flowers can be yellow, red, or both. |
Leaf |
Leaves are highly divided, fern-like and narrow. They are covered with fine white hairs. Most leaves rise from the base of the plant but it also has several stem leaves. |

The plant spreads through horizontal roots (rhizomes) and colonies often form in large patches. |
