Flower Pink to purplish tubular florets on top of a green shiny bur.
Leaf Upper leaves are heart-shaped but without indentation. Lower leaves are larger and can be up to 12″ long. Leafstalks are hollow. Margins are wavy and minutely toothed.
Notes The hooked barbs on the burs clink to clothing and animal fur.
