Wildflower Database Home

As many visitors to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, they enjoy hiking through the woods or along a lakeshore, kayaking in rivers and lakes, and biking on back roads and trails. These protected park trails and riverbanks are wonderful homes to native and wild-growing flora and fauna.

We have developed two tools to help you identify and learn about the wildflowers of Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Our simple wildflower field guide contains a few pictures and names of the most common flowers in the area and can be easily folded up and taken with you on your hike.
This guide is also available at the Visitor Center for a small donation, or you can download it before your visit with the two links below.

We also offer an online database of wildflowers that are organized by color and season.

To open the database, click on the color category below to view a summary of flowers for each color category. If you know the flower you want to look-up, click on the link directly.
