| Flower | Flowers are creamy white to pale yellow. They do not appear until the second year. |

| Notes | Stems are erect and lack spines except where leaves attach to the stem. The Pitcher’s Thistle is found only in the Great Lakes sand dunes and is a Federally Endangered species protected by law in all states. |
