My grandfather, Oswald Cordes, served on the
North Manitou Life Saving Station. I do not know the years – he was probably born around 1868.
Is there a resource that lists crew members from the North Manitou station?

Greetings, I have just heard that you are looking for volunteers for the new trail. I understand that you are looking for ambassadors for the trail. I would like to find out more of what you need. I am looking forward to riding this trail often this summer and other seasons as well.

My family have enjoyed this park since prior to 1950. Every year, as I was growing up, my family would camp at DH Days Park. Back then it was a State Park. Now it is Federally owned. which I think saved the park, because the state did not have the money to save the park. While the state owned it, with the Dune Mobiles and other lack of strict conservation, it could have been a ruined site. I love this area, all the way to Frankfort, where for years I enjoyed years of fishing on Lake Michigan.
